ORLANDO, FL April 12, 2014 – The Charleston Battery (0-1-2) lost to Orlando City SC (2-0-2) by a score of one goal to none on Saturday night at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Stadium.  Substitute forward Brian Spann scored the lone goal slotting home from close range in the 74th minute. The loss was the Battery’s first of the USL PRO season. CHARLESTON, SC March 29, 2014 – The Charleston Battery secured a 2-2 draw with the Richmond Kickers on Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, S.C. in front of 3,254. CHARLESTON, SC March 22, 2014 – The Charleston Battery opened its season Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium with a 1-1 draw against the Orlando City Lions in front of 3,773.  The Battery took the lead in the 65th minute through Mamdou Diouf but Orlando’s Austin daLuz leveled ten minutes later to salvage a draw for the 2013 champs. Neither team was able to pull ahead in the first half despite chances for both teams. Charleston Battery defeats Georgia Southern University in final pre-season scrimmage

CHARLESTON, SC March 18, 2014 – The Charleston Battery defeated Georgia Southern University by a score of seven goals to nil in its final pre-season scrimmage on Tuesday afternoon at Blackbaud Stadium.  Mamadou Diouf registered a second-half hat-trick to lead the Battery to a comfortable victory. Charleston pressed from the opening whistle and scored four unanswered goals in the first-half with Zach Prince, Heviel Cordoves, Jarad van Schaik and Adam Mena all converting chances.
