The game will resume on Saturday at 4 p.m. with Saturday’s originally scheduled contest to follow the conclusion of the first game. Fans with tickets to Friday’s game may still attend for the resumption of the contest. The stadium will be cleared at the conclusion of game one. Harry Hampton Wildlife Fund donates $134,525 to DNR

COLUMBIA, SC March 28, 2014 – The S.C. Natural Resources Board, the policy-making body of the S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR), met in Columbia on Friday, March 28th, 2014. During the meeting, the board formally accepted a monetary donation from the Harry Hampton Memorial Wildlife Fund, Inc. This year’s donation was $134,525 and the total donated to DNR by the Hampton Fund over the years now stands at $3,033,455. The Harry Hampton Memorial Wildlife Fund, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation which partners with the DNR for the promotion of natural resources and natural resource education which benefits the conservation of wildlife, marine and other resources in South Carolina. Spring turkey season forecast good, youth day March 29

COLUMBIA, SC March 20, 2014 – An estimated 50,000 hunters will take to the woods during the upcoming turkey season, generating an estimated $30 million in direct expenditures for South Carolina’s economy. The 2014 wild turkey season begins April 1 on private lands in 34 counties that make up Game Zones 1-5 and for all Wildlife Management Areas statewide where turkey hunting is allowed. The season opened March 15 on private lands only in Game Zone 6: Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Berkeley, Calhoun, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, Jasper and Orangeburg counties.
