Fritsch, Henley still at the top in Chiquita Classic

WEDDINGTON, N.C. — Canada’s Brad Fritsch and Russell Henley of Macon, Ga. started Saturday’s third round tied for the lead and both players matched 7-under-par 65s to stay deadlocked after 54 holes of the 2012 Chiquita Classic. Both players have three-round totals of 20-under 196, just one stroke off the lowest first 54 holes on the Web.com Tour (Paul Haley II, Chile Classic Presented by Pacific Rubiales) this year. Fritsch was treading water over his first seven holes today with two birdies and two bogeys. However, he knew that if he stayed patient and kept the ball in play off the tee, he’d have good opportunities for birdies over the remainder of the round. A suma cum laude graduate of […]

The opinions expressed here are his own and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Bobcats organization. Two of the most exciting periods in every offseason are draft night (and the weeks leading up to it), and Training Camp. This is go-time! I’m particularly revved up with the new location for camp – Asheville, NC. It’s one of my favorite cities in the Carolinas. The fresh mountain air is invigorating and the town is filled with CHARACTER! It’s a laid-back, liberal town, anchored by the Biltmore Estate; the largest former […]

CofC Women’s Soccer Falls at UNCG in Overtime

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The College of Charleston women’s soccer team suffered its first Southern Conference loss on Friday night when the Cougars fell, 2-1, in overtime to UNC Greensboro at the UNCG Soccer Stadium. The Cougars (3-7-0, 2-1-0 SoCon) were narrowly outshot in a contest dictated by great goalkeeping on both ends. CofC created several quality opportunities and possessed well but ultimately couldn’t get the breaks needed to claim the result. “It was a really good team performance for our side,” said head coach Christian Michner. “We’re obviously disappointed with the loss, and in overtime it’s always tougher because it’s so abrupt and so final. But, our girls worked extremely hard and played for each other. We got great leadership […]
