RALEIGH, NC March 28, 2014 — The statewide spring season for wild turkeys — male and bearded turkeys only — opens Saturday, April 5, with a one-week youth season that lasts through April 11. The season for all hunters opens April 12 and continues through May 10. During youth season, only turkey hunting by youth less than 16 years old is allowed. Each youth must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years old. The adult may accompany more than one youth during a particular hunt and the adult cannot harvest a turkey.
