Three Teen Spring Sports at Surf City

SURF CITY, NC Feb. 21, 2014 – 1 + 2 = 3 spring sports programs for teens through Surf City Parks & Recreation!  The newest is an extension of Surf City Volleyball with a brand new Teen League on Saturday mornings. Games , start March 29 with a pre-season scrimmage on Saturday, March 22 to get everyone warmed up and ready to set and spike. Teen Volleyball (for ages 12-17) will run according to modified USVBA rules in a co-ed setting. While individual registration is $50 for eight games and a post-season tournament, team registration is only $250 (7-10 players). Soccer Referee Course at Surf City Community Center

New Soccer Referee Course for 2014 SURF CITY, NC Feb. 13,2014 – Surf City Community Center will host an introductory level USSF soccer referee course for 2014 on Sunday, March 2 from 8 am to 4 pm,  with online modules also to be completed in advance. Participants will need to be 14 or older to be fully certified for game play and receive assignments. This will be the last 2014 new referee course held in the Topsail area. The $20 registration fee includes a shirt for this untimed event and proceeds go to American Heart Association. JACKSONVILLE, NC January 30, 2013 – Onslow County manager Jeff Hudson addressed Winter Storm Leon and reported, “I have had the opportunity to consult with Emergency Services, the Sheriff’s Department, and each of our Commissioners. He is a 23 year old just like most others with one exception.  He likes videogames, football and WWE Wrestling.  His favorite team is the Carolina Panthers and his favorite wrestlers are Daniel Bryan and Shawn Michaels.  The exception is that he is one of the few talented musicians in the area who will be releasing an album soon. If approved by the Department of Insurance, new rates would be effective August 1, 2014.
