JACKSONVILLE, NC January 30, 2013 – Onslow County manager Jeff Hudson addressed Winter Storm Leon and reported, “I have had the opportunity to consult with Emergency Services, the Sheriff’s Department, and each of our Commissioners. Contrary to earlier forecasts, temperatures did not rise far above freezing. Some sleet and snow continues to fall in eastern Onslow County at this hour. Conditions are very dangerous and will remain so until later in the day tomorrow. Colton Leighton preparing to record and release his first EP, “Reconstruction.”

He is a 23 year old just like most others with one exception.  He likes videogames, football and WWE Wrestling.  His favorite team is the Carolina Panthers and his favorite wrestlers are Daniel Bryan and Shawn Michaels.  The exception is that he is one of the few talented musicians in the area who will be releasing an album soon. Salisbury Street Raleigh, NC 27603 Phone (919)-715-3034 Fax (919)-715-7586 E-mail harry.brown@ncleg.net January 8, 2014 The North Carolina Department of Insurance has posted the proposed homeowners insurance rate adjustments by territory on their website.  The proposed changes can be viewed at the following link: http://www.ncdoi.com/Media/Documents/1-7%20Homeowners%20Proposed%20Changes%20by%20Territory.pdf Jones County is included in territory 49 and parts of Onslow County are listed by zip code in territories 8, 52 A and 52 B. If approved by the Department of Insurance, new rates would be effective August 1, 2014.

Salisbury Street Raleigh, NC 27603 Phone (919)-715-3034 Fax (919)-715-7586 E-mail harry.brown@ncleg.net January 6, 2014 As I mentioned in my December newsletter, my office was informed that the North Carolina Rate Bureau (Rate Bureau) may file for a homeowners insurance rate increase this month.  Late Friday afternoon, the Rate Bureau did file for a statewide average rate increase of 25.3 percent with the North Carolina Department of Insurance (Department).  If approved by the Department, new rates would be effective August 1, 2014.   The Department will now review the filing to determine if any rate adjustments are necessary.  If the Department and Rate Bureau […]
