RALEIGH, NC– Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has claimed right wing Andreas Nodl (awn-DRAY-uhs NOHD’L) on waivers from Philadelphia. “This is a young player that skates really well,” said Rutherford. “He has a skill level that gives us a little more depth among our top 12 forwards.” Nodl, 24, has played in 12 games with the Flyers this season, earning one assist while averaging 10:17 of ice time per game. The team will announce a new head coach later today. Maurice completes his second stint with the Hurricanes with a career NHL coaching record of 460-457-167.
