Will be recalled on emergency basis for Tim Brent; Jeff Skinner to be placed on injured reserve RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team will recall forward Riley Nash from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). To make room for Nash on the roster, forward Jeff Skinner will be placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 7. She was notified of this honor on Monday Dec. 19. She is now among a very distinguished roster of teachers and counselors to receive the 2011 Inspirational Educator Award, according to the N.C. State Office of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor. The award was established to recognize excellence in high school teachers and counselors in the United States, said N.C. The campaign helps donate jeans and jackets to those in need and spreads awareness about homelessness. More than 300 stores throughout the world have sponsored this drive, according to Volcom’s Give Jeans a Chance. The National Coalition for the Homeless has sponsored the event with Volcom. After Hurricane Irene affected the Outer Banks community, DECA and Coastal Edge decided to help residents of Hatteras Island by providing them with jeans and jackets.
