GREENVILLE, N.C Dec. 20, 2011 — The East Carolina men’s basketball game against Tulsa on Jan. 14, 2012 has been moved to 1 p.m. The game, originally scheduled for a 5 p.m. start, will be televised locally on WITN. WITN will also televise the Pirates’ Feb. 11 game against Marshall in Huntington as well as their final home game of the year on Feb. 29 against the Thundering Herd. The Pirates return to action Thursday, Dec. 22 as they face Gardner-Webb at 7 p.m. inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum. Lower level tickets are available for $5 for all three remaining home games in the month of December including games against N.C. Central (Dec. 29) and UVa.-Wise (Dec. 31).

RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Cultural Resources and the Division of State Historic Sites announces the selection of Larry K. Neal Jr. as site manager of Reed Gold Mine State Historic Site. Neal has spent 15 years at the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer, serving as a historic interpreter then as chief of museum operations and education. First serving at Fort Fisher State Historic Site as an interpreter in the 1980s, Neal came to the Reed Gold Mine in 1993 before his time at the N.C. Transportation Museum. Department of Cultural Resources’ Fort Fisher State Historic Site will host “The Lights of the Great Armada: The 147th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort Fisher” on Jan. 21-22, 2012.
