For the first time in school history, varsity football kicker Aaron Zeigler had a perfect season, making 14 of 14 extra point attempts in his junior season. “It feels great to have gone 100 percent. RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team will reassign forward Riley Nash to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Nash, 22, was recalled from Charlotte on Friday on an emergency basis for forward Tim Brent, and played in his first NHL game that night against Phoenix. He recorded his first NHL point with an assist on Andreas Nodl’s first-period goal against Ottawa on Friday, and averaged 10:46 of ice time in his two NHL games.
