Morehead City, N.C. – Monday night’s game between the Morehead City Marlins (12-23) and the Wilmington Sharks (20-14) started as a pitching duel but Casey Goss smacked two doubles for four runs batted in to help the visitors take home a 6-3 victory. Columbia, SC – Monday night’s contest with the Columbia Blowfish was officially cancelled after numerous attempts to play the game, with no makeup date scheduled. The two teams waited nearly an hour and a half through a lightning delay, only to resume and have the game cancelled due to downpours in the Columbia area. The Dogs had a 5-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning, but the game will not be made official as the two squads did not complete five innings of play. In other windsurfing news, the OBX has been rocking with daily SW winds topping the upper 20s!  The forecast is set to continue for most of this week.  We are patiently awaiting solid swell wrap, however, Lifeguard Beach near the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and Ramp 30 do indeed have some nice outside sand bars.  Lifeguard though seems to be the magic spot with high tide breaking there!  Enjoyed an excellent SeaLion sesh at Lifeguard solo yesterday!  Finished up at Ramp 30 last night with a nice gathering of both local and visiting crew.  Awaiting some action shots […]

Cody Arnoux added to Hammerheads roster from Real Salt Lake Wilmington, NC – The Wilmington Hammerheads officially announced today at a press conference the signing of forward Cody Arnoux. The live press conference took place at center court of Independence Mall at 3500 Oleander Drive. A native to Wilmington, Arnoux is a 2006 New Hanover High School graduate. His previous clubs include: Wake Forest University, English Premier League club Everton, United States Soccer Federation (USSF) club Vancouver Whitecaps, and MLS’s Real Salt Lake. Hoes had three hits, and the Norfolk Tides beat the Charlotte Knights 10-6 on Saturday in the middle game of the three-game series from Knights Stadium.   Charlotte (49-42) got into a hole early after allowing nine runs in the first inning to Norfolk. Charlotte, NC – The Charleston Battery lost a third straight game with a 1-0 loss to the Charlotte Eagles Saturday night at Charlotte Christian Stadium in front of 693. Eagles forward Darryl Roberts scored the lone goal in the 36th minute to lift Charlotte (6-8-2) to victory as the Battery (10-6-0) slipped down into third position in the USL PRO standings. The first chance of the game fell to the Battery in only the second minute. Charlotte failed to clear a long ball and Charleston midfielder Nicki Paterson was the first to react to the loose ball.
