Several teachers at this school are expecting children in upcoming months, though for many it is not their first. In a similar cradle, many just recently had children. MANTEO – East Carolina University returns to Roanoke Island Festival Park with the well-known production “Our Town” on June 26, 27, 28 at 7 p.m. in the Indoor Theatre. First produced in 1938, the Pulitzer-Prize winning play has become an American stage treasure and is Thornton Wilder’s most renowned and frequently performed play. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12 years old. Children 5 and under are free. They may be purchased in advance at the Visitors Center or the night of the event. Whether it is coming or leaving, adding or cutting, change is coming to this campus for the 2012-2013 school year. Beginning July 1, current administrative assistant Steven Blackstock will take a new position as principal at Jarvisburg Elementary (JES) in Jarvisburg, North Carolina. As an administrative assistant, Blackstock currently serves as staff development coordinator, student-teacher liaison and AVID coordinator. Blackstock is also involved in staff and athletic supervision, scheduling, leadership team, Freshman Academy and making teacher evaluations.
