PINE KNOLL SHORES, NC Sept. 4, 2015 – The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores invites homeschool families to enjoy a day of educational programs and activities on Homeschool Day, Sept. 10. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on the day of the event.
This year’s theme is “The Ocean and You.” The event features the Shark Survivor Program, in which students explore the challenges sharks face in the wild.
Behind-the-scenes tours are discounted to $4 per person for homeschool families and are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Advance registration earlier in the day is required, tours are limited to 15 people and children must be at least five years old to participate.
Aquarium admission and Homeschool Day activities, except the behind-the-scenes tours, are free for homeschool families – please bring your identification. The Aquarium’s annual Homeschool Day is a special event in addition to the one free admission per year allowed for homeschool families.
The Aquarium is open to the public normal operating hours and will conduct daily programs as usual for other visitors on Sept. 10.
The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is five miles west of Atlantic Beach at 1 Roosevelt Blvd., Pine Knoll Shores, NC 28512. The Aquarium is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $10.95 for ages 13-61; $9.95 for ages 62 and up and military; $8.95 for ages 3-12; no charge for ages 2 and under and North Carolina Aquarium Society members.
