ONSLOW COUNTY, NC – Oct. 10, 2014 – The Jacksonville Urban Area Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) team will host the plan’s next Community Workshop on Tuesday, October 14, in the Center Court at the Jacksonville Mall from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
This fun and interactive event will feature maps, exhibits and a variety of activities that will let you influence the future of transportation in our community. Participants will be able to provide feedback on current transportation in Jacksonville and how they envision transportation in the years to come. A brief questionnaire will be available to guide participants through several maps showing preliminary recommendations. All individuals that provide feedback at the workshop will be entered into a drawing for a mall gift card!
The Jacksonville Urban Area Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is a community-driven process that establishes a vision for mobility in the City of Jacksonville and portions of Onslow County. The LRTP establishes goals, identifies needs, sets investment priorities, and outlines an action plan for the future transportation system. The plan covers each way people and goods move within and through the Jacksonville area, including the street network, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit services, and freight movement. The overall goal of the LRTP is to improve mobility, accessibility and safety for people and goods.
