Sneads Ferry Community Plan

This event will be an interactive open house and the public is encouraged to stop by at any time to participate. During the workshop, members of the community will be able to provide input on the potential growth alternatives and transportation exhibits drafted by the plan’s Blue Ribbon Panel and project team.

The Blue Ribbon Panel is composed of residents, members of the business community, and other stakeholders. The Board of County Commissioners designated the fifteen members of the Blue Ribbon Panel at its March 3, 2014 regular meeting. Members of the Blue Ribbon Panel are tasked with providing feedback and guidance to the project team along with contributing their experience and knowledge to the planning process.

In addition to the Community Workshop, project team members will be available at the 2014 Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival on August 9 and August 10. The public is invited to stop by our booth and comment on the exhibits. This will be a preview of the information that will be provided at the workshop.

The Sneads Ferry Community Plan is a collaborative effort by the Jacksonville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and Onslow County. The plan will blend future transportation needs with a realistic land use vision for the area.
