Spend One-on-One Time with James Patterson!
Author James Patterson has made a donation of $500 to the Literacy Council of Buncombe County in preparation for his engagement as the keynote speaker for the organization’s Sept. 5 Authors for Literacy Dinner and Silent Auction. He challenges the WNC community to join him in supporting the critical work of the Literacy Council. The first 30 individuals to match his donation with a $500 gift to the Literacy Council will receive two tickets to the event, as well as two tickets to a private reception with Patterson, where he will answer donors’ questions, inscribe books, and take photos with guests.
The private reception will include beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres and will take place in a reception area at the Renaissance with views of downtown Asheville and the mountains beyond. Mr. Patterson will spend one-on-one time taking pictures and answering questions with the 60 challenge gift ticket holders.
These private reception guests may preview the silent auction before other event guests arrive, with the option of proxy bidding while they meet Mr. Patterson. The silent auction will include distinctive art and crafts, autographed and rare books, and priceless opportunities to enjoy excursions in Asheville and beyond. Following the cocktail hour, all event guests will enjoy a three-course dinner. James Patterson will then give the keynote presentation and autograph guests’ books.
