Brooklyn Arts Center announces the 4th Port City Ping Pong Throwdown

Event to feature two competitor groups, cash prizes, raffle, local food vendor, and cash bar

Wilmington, NC, July 20 2014 – The Brooklyn Arts Center is excited to announce “The 4th Port City Ping Pong Throwdown” at the Brooklyn Arts Center (516 North 4th Street—the corner of Campbell and North 4th streets) on Friday, September 5, registration from 4:30-6:30 p.m. with open tables, Throwdown at 6:15 p.m.

The Wilmington Table Tennis Club presents the biggest and coolest Ping Pong event since the super successful 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Port City Ping Pong Throwdowns. All players are welcome: playing for fun, playing for keeps. There will be two competition categories — an A-group for anybody who wants to play with the best of the best and a B-group for those who want to play against more casual players. Eight tables, cool tunes, raffle sponsored by Omega Sports, cash prizes for top finishers, and lots of room for cheering fans. One of Wilmington’s fabulous food vendors will feed the crowd, the BAC cash bar will provide liquid refreshments, there’s an ATM onsite, and plenty of free, street parking in the BAC neighborhood.

Player registration fee is $10. Non-player admission is $5. Everyone gets a raffle ticket with the price of registration or admission. Registration is at the door from 4:30-6:30pm (or until spots fill up). Due to popularity, there will be a cap on the amount of players that are able to register. You can sign up in advance at the Wilmington Table Tennis Club weekly meeting or contact Wilmington Table Tennis Club on Facebook. Games will start promptly at 6:15pm. The Wilmington Table Tennis Club will have a few extra paddles on hand, and you can also bring your own.
