Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce announces Schedule of Events for Phlock to the Beach – A Buffet Style Beach Bash
SOUTHPORT-OAK ISLAND AREA, NC – The Chamber of Commerce for the Southport-Oak Island area will host a long weekend of Jimmy Buffett-Style events August 22-24, 2014. Activities include pub tours throughout Southport and Oak Island, beach game tournaments and concerts.
An annual festival, it is expected to draw many Buffett fans from across North Carolina and neighboring states. The fun begins with a local Parrot Head Pub & Grub Crawl on Friday, August 22nd.
After a day of Oak Island beach games including corn hole and horse shoes on Saturday and an Art on the Apron event at the Cape Fear Regional Airport on August 23rd , the day ends with a concert held at the Cape Fear Regional Jetport featuring food, children’s games, Jimmy Buffett style contests, Parrott Head Club Challenge and entertainment by Latitude and Searce & Ketner bands. The weekend concludes with a Sunday morning fund raising pancake breakfast event hosted by the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter #939.
We encourage artist to participate in the Art of the Apron. An event that encourages local artist to use their imagination to paint trop-style art on the run-way surrounding the events of the Phlock to the Beach Festival.
