Ted from Ted’s Butcher Block to serve as Celebrity Smokin’ Chef on Sunday

Charleston RiverdogsCHARLESTON, SC June 7, 2014 – The Celebrity Smokin’ Chef promotion that the Charleston RiverDogs have held every Sunday home game so far this season continues this weekend. The ballclub has announced that Ted Dombrowski, the owner and operator of Ted’s Butcher Block, has been tabbed as the celebrity chef for Sunday, June 8, and he will be preparing a to be determined delicacy consisting of pork belly as the main ingredient for fans to enjoy. Ted will be at the game and stationed by the RiverDogs’ new smoker several times throughout the afternoon to promote the specific dish, ensure it is being served appropriately, and visit with fans.

The exact specifics of the dish will be revealed Sunday when the gates open at 4pm for the RiverDogs game against the Savannah Sand Gnats which is scheduled to begin at 5:05pm at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on Sunday.

The pork belly special will be available to all fans for the reasonable price of $7 per serving.

In addition, the RiverDogs will donate a portion of the proceeds from the smoked item to the Lowcountry Food Bank.

“We’ve received some great feedback about this promotion during our first four Sunday home games this season, and we’re excited for Ted to come out the ballpark and treat our fans to his culinary excellence,” said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. “Pork belly is a delicious food that sounds great to enjoy at the ballpark, and we’re thrilled to help raise funds for the Lowcountry Food Bank in the process.”
