Al Jefferson took center stage for the Cats offensively yet again, posting his sixth 30-point game this season while adding eight rebounds in a lopsided 114-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 11 at Time Warner Cable Arena. Anthony Tolliver had a season-high 22 points, including five three-pointers for the Cats off the bench.
The offensive-minded Cats were able to keep up with the Mavericks early on, shooting 60 percent from the field in the first quarter on their way to a 26-24 lead. Charlotte jumped out to a 10-0 run in the beginning of the second and continued that momentum throughout the period going into halftime with a 14-point lead. The second half started in a similar fashion, with the Cats beginning the third on a 15-3 run. Charlotte would extend its lead to as many as 27 in the third and never looked back as they cruised to victory.

The Cats were able neutralize a dangerous Maverick offense, holding them to 45.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from long distance. Meanwhile, Charlotte flourished on the offensive end converting a season-high 54.9 percent of their attempts from the field and 50.0 percent from downtown… Charlotte’s efficient shooting can be credited to great ball movement. The Cats recorded a franchise-record 42 assists on 45 made baskets… Charlotte also took control of Dallas on the interior, finishing with 60 points in the paint, 38 rebounds and seven blocked shots… The Mavs also put the Bobcats on the stripe 15 times, compared to just 12 for Dallas; Charlotte has now attempted more free throws than its opponent in 21 of their 23 victories this season.
BOBCATS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Al Jefferson added another great performance to his already impressive recent stretch of play. He finished with 30 points and eight rebounds. Jefferson has scored 20 or more points in 14 of his last 15 games, including seven games of 30 or more points.
MAVERICKS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Monta Ellis paced the Mavericks with a team-high 16 points on 7-for-12 shooting and handed out seven assists in 32 minutes of play.
The Cats won their second game all-time against the Mavericks and ended Dallas’ five-game winning streak; the series now stands at 17-2… This is the first victory in five tries for Charlotte this season against the Southwest Conference…Anthony Tolliver continues his impressive season from three-point range, pouring in five treys on 10 attempts; his third career game with five three-pointers. He came into the game tied for fourth in the NBA in three-point field goal percentage (44.6 percent)… Josh McRoberts dished out a career-high 13 assists for the Cats. McRoberts also converted on 3-of-4 from downtown and is now 26-for-51 (50.9 percent) from three in his last 13 games… Kemba Walker left in the fourth quarter with left achilles tightness and did not return for Charlotte. Walker corralled a season-high nine rebounds before exiting… The Cats held Dallas 89 points and have held their opponent under 100 points in 33 of their 52 games this season, third-most games in the NBA… Charlotte is now 13-3 this season when they score 100 points or more and 6-1 when they do so at home. The Bobcats had 42 assists on 45 field goals tonight, for a percentage of .933. That is the highest by any NBA team this season (previously .875 [28/32] also by the Bobcats on Jan. 20 vs. Toronto) and the highest in franchise history (previously .929 [39-42] on March. 12, 2007 vs. Orlando). The percentage is the best in the NBA since Jan. 27, 2013, when Portland recorded .966 (28-29) at the Clippers.
