Greensboro, NC October 19, 2013 – Rookie Cody Zeller recorded his first double-double of the preseason with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Jeffery Taylor added 11 points off the bench but the Cats three-game winning streak came to an end with an 89-83 loss to Dallas on Oct. 19 in Greensboro, NC.
The Charlotte Bobcats traveled to Greensboro, NC to take on the Dallas Mavericks in preseason action and fell, 89-83. Bobcats Rookie Cody Zeller led the way with his first-career double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds on 45.4 percent shooting. Kemba Walker added 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.
The Mavericks built a 6-0 lead, but the Bobcats were able to tie the game up at the end of the first quarter, 23-23, while being sparked by nine points from Jeffery Taylor. From there, momentum would shift, as the Mavericks would outscore the Cats 27-12 in the second quarter guided behind seven points from Vince Carter, who finished with 13 points at the half. The Mavericks finished the first half on an 18-2 run to stake a 50-37 lead.

Charlotte got off to a strong start from the field, going 10-for-19 (52 percent), compared to the Mavericks 10-for-23 (43 percent) start in the first quarter. But miscues and mistakes would plaque the Cats as they finished the game with 24 turnovers, despite shooting 42 percent from the floor, compared to the Mavericks 41 percent…The Bobcats had a good balance on the score sheet with four players in double figures scoring and eight – Cody Zeller (14), Kemba Walker (12), Jeffery Taylor (11), Josh McRoberts (10), and Gerald Henderson (nine), Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (eight) – both finishing with at least eight.

Cody Zeller impressed in 27 minutes of play, leading the Bobcats with his first career double-double (14 points, 10 Rebounds), also adding in two assist. Zeller is the first player on the team to record a double-double this preseason. He is also averaging 8.1 points per game in six preseason games.

MAVERICKS PLAYER OF THE GAME
The Mavericks had three players tied with double figure scoring – Vince Carter (13), Jose Calderon (13), and Shawn Marion (13).
Kemba Walker has scored in double figures in five of six preseason games and is averaging a team-best 11.8 points during the preseason. Bismack Biyombo continues to lead the team in rebounding so far in the preseason, having recorded double-figure rebounding games in three of the last four games. Biyombo is averaging 9.6 rebounds in six games this preseason.
