Jacksonville, NC October 17, 2013 – Saturday, October 19th from 4 pm until 7 pm, join the Onslow County Museum for its “Haunted Pirate Ship, ”the Adventure Galley. This family event will take visitors on a quest to unlock a centuries old tale. Meet some seaworthy ghostly characters along the way including the fierce Captain Gideon McCager, Calista the Sea Witch, and many more.
Children 12 and under are welcome to wear their costumes. Cost is $3.00 per person for everyone ages 3 and above. Refreshments, give-away treats, and make and take crafts are included in this fun-filled evening. “We know that many of our youngest visitors want the opportunity to celebrate Halloween as long as they can,” says Chance Hellmann, the Onslow County Museum Education Coordinator. “We have combined the spookiness of Halloween with our children’s exhibit “A Pirate’s Life for Me” to create a kid-friendly event that will be a little bit pirate history, a little bit scary, and a whole lot of fun for everyone.”
