Already Over 2,000 Contributed To Active Military Personnel In North Carolina
GREENVILLE, NC September 25, 2013 - In addition to recognizing members of all five branches of the United States Armed Forces to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Oct. 19 for Military Appreciation Day, East Carolina hopes to salute thousands of servicemen, servicewomen and their families in person through its annual “Ticket For Troops” campaign.
Through the generosity of the Pirate Nation and sponsor Furniture Distributors, over 2,000 tickets have already been donated to local and regional bases in the eastern North Carolina area to get this year’s effort off to a good start.
Each ticket designated for the troops, which is priced at just $20, will be matched by East Carolina and Furniture Distributors and delivered to deserving marines, sailors, soldiers, airmen and their dependents.
To participate in the “Tickets for Troops” campaign, visit the donation link at ECUPirates.com or call (252) 737-4500. Since ECU initiated the promotion in 2006, the Pirate Nation has donated over 6,500 tickets to military personnel and their families.
East Carolina will host long-time rival Southern Miss for a pivotal Conference USA clash in what is currently scheduled as the Golden Eagles’ last visit to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
