SURF CITY, NC September 13, 2013 – Fall into the season and the arms of your dance partner as you join Kent Boseman, Professional Tango Instructor, for Argentine Tango Lessons!
Classes will be Wednesdays from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm in the Surf City Community Center Gymnasium. Starting September 18
“This will be a nice addition to our existing offerings which include a host of activities to get your heart pumping. How exciting and fun!” says Surf City Parks & Recreation Director, Kristie Grubb.
Argentine Tango is both a genre of music and dance invented at the turn of the century in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In Argentine Tango, there is no basic step; the couple relies on an intense awareness of each other’s movements and energy which allows them to move in unison with each other and the music. The ability to improvise in a dance with another person and move together with such a strong connection is a fascinating and addictive experience.
“We are thrilled to be working with such an amazing instructor to provide this opportunity for our community!” says SCP&R Athletics Supervisor, Steve Unger.
Kent is a lifelong resident of Wilmington and has been teaching dance for a decade. While he specializes in Argentine Tango, he has also taught waltz, fox-trot and salsa.
Cost is only $20.00 per couple per session! Participants who are not already members of Surf City Community Center add an additional $5 daily guest fee per person to attend each class.
