SURF CITY, NC August 27, 2013 – Surf City Community Center will host more classes than ever this fall within an expanded Wellness department. Several brand new ventures lead the way. Hot Yoga will be offered for the first time with Fallon Normyle moving her 6 pm Wednesday class to this format. Amanda Brennan will also host a 9 am Friday hot yoga class in a new time slot.
Gabriela Plocka-Topshee will return Pilates to the center’s offerings with a 6 pm Tuesday class Starting September 10 and H.I.I.T (High Intensity Interval Training ) is a new half-hour high intensity class, starting on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 8:30 a.m. This class features ACE Certified Anna Barnoski.
A full range of Spinning classes return to the schedule with new instructors Chaundel Medlin and Jacob Carlsen coming aboard. Participants will be able to Spin on Mondays and Wednesday mornings at 8:30 am, Saturday mornings at 9, along with 6 pm classes on Wednesday and Friday nights. Most regular fitness classes are $5, with an additional $5 required from non-members.
A new series of Arthritis Foundation classes begins September 17 with a six-week session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am to 12 noon. ($50 for 12 classes). Wellness Coordinator Linda Carlsen will teach it along with Boot Camp from 6 to 7 am every Tuesday and Thursday for eight weeks ($80 members, $95 non-members). Drop-ins are welcome!
