Pamlico County Croaker Festival Set For First Weekend in July

Oriental, NC June 23, 2013 – Come experience the 33rd Annual Pamlico County Croaker Festival on July 5-6 in Oriental, NC! Generously hosted by Oriental residents since 1980, the Croaker Festival is a family-friendly Fourth of July celebration fizzing with local spirit and community. Folks can celebrate summertime with an array of games, contests, music, pageants, and fresh local seafood!

On Friday, July 5th, enjoy events including baking contests, kids’ putt-putt in the park, street dancing, the Minnow Pageant and the Croaker Queen Pageant, and performances by the Pamlico Chorale and the Pamlico Community Band.  Be sure to come back on Saturday the 6th for more exciting vendors, contests, and street dancing, as well as performances by local musicians and the grand Croakerfest Parade at 10:00 a.m. And don’t miss the Croaker Festival Regatta following the parade that afternoon! Fireworks over the Harbor will cap off the weekend celebration around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

 

Vendor set-up begins at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. The festival takes place on the Oriental waterfront at Lou-Mac Park and surrounding areas. Visit croakerfestival.com for more information, including a full schedule of events.
