Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston Launches 30th Year Campaign

BILL WALSH SPORTS THE RED SHOES FOR THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF CHARLESTON 30TH BIRTHDAY CAMPAIGN : WEAR RED SHOES.COM

Charleston, SC March 21, 2013 – The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston (RMHCC) was built almost 30 years ago as a home away from home for families of seriously ill children in our area hospitals. What started as a 12 bedroom house has grown into 27 bedrooms, 7 of which are for children who have received transplants. The House is open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

Part of the year-long campaign is to display 12 different local celebrities, wearing Ronald’s Big Red Shoes, on billboards around the Charleston area. The 2nd Billboard has launched and portrays Bill Walsh, Live 5 News Chief Meteorologist, sporting the big RED SHOES! The billboard is located on I-26 West, right before the Cosgrove exit.

The RMHCC would like to see the entire community ‘in red shoes’.

YOU can even have a chance to see yourself on a billboard! Send in a picture of yourself, family or friends all in red shoes to contest@wearredshoes.com for a chance to win! The winner will be decided on Facebook with the most ‘likes’. Become our friend on Facebook www.facebook.com/rmhcharleston.

Wearing red shoes has become a symbol for joining others to make a difference to families of seriously ill children. The families are going through their darkest time and the RMHCC task is to join them in their journey as they help their child fight for their lives. To wear the red shoes, all you have to be is someone who is ready to help. Red Shoes are one size fits all, and there are many ways to help.

To get involved- check out the website www.wearredshoes.com Then put on your own red shoes, lace them up and put your best (big, red) foot forward and join RMHCC in going forward to the next 30 years. You will discover that wearing red shoes makes you smile, inside and out.
