UNCW Seahawks Make Staff Changes In Men’s Basketball

WILMINGTON, NC March 18, 2013 – Associate Head Coach Jamie Kachmarik and Assistant Coach Dante Calabria will not return to the UNCW men’s basketball staff in 2013-14.

“We appreciate the leadership and service of Jamie and Dante and wish them the best in the future,” said Buzz Peterson, UNCW’s third-year coach. “By restructuring our coaching staff and reviewing every phase of our program, we hope to return the program to a level of excellence that will become a source of pride for our student-athletes, the university and the Wilmington community.”

Kachmarik recently completed his third season with the Seahawks. He coached with Peterson at Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State before moving to Wilmington in 2010-11.

Calabria finished his first season as a full-time assistant coach after serving as the program’s Director of Basketball Operations in 2011-12.
