Jannero Pargo led the Cats with 15 points off the bench in just his second game with Charlotte and Gerald Henderson added 16 as the Bobcats fell, 105-88, on March 16 in Boston.
The Bobcats fought off multiple runs in Boston in the first half, each time rallying to tie the game or pull it to within two points. However, the Cats didn’t have enough to quiet Paul Pierce at the end of the first half as his six points sparked an 8-2 run to give the Celtics a 50-43 lead at the break… Charlotte kept things close early in the third and trailed 57-51 before Boston took control of the game with a 10-2 run to push the lead to 67-53. The Celtics went 6-for-9 from the field to start the third and extend their lead. Boston finished the third with 33 points on 11-for-17 shooting, including 4-for-4 from behind the arc… Down 83-66 heading to the final frame, the Cats could not get back into the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Bobcats were outshot 51.9 percent (41-for-79) to 44.7 percent (34-for-76), but the Celtics did their real damage from beyond the arc. Boston connected on 66.7 percent (10-for-15) of its treys, while the Cats hit on 35.0 percent (7-for-20) of theirs… The two teams were close in turnovers, but it was the Cats who took better advantage of Boston’s miscues. Charlotte turned 13 Celtics turnovers into 24 points, while Boston scored 15 points off 14 Bobcats turnovers.
