La Dolce Vita Social and Silent Auction to Support the Nuovo Cinema Italiano Film Festival

CHARLESTON, SC March 12, 2013 – “La Dolce Vita” Social and Silent Auction to benefit Nuovo Cinema Italiano Film Festival will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 6:00 to 8 p.m. at the Halsey Gallery, Marion and Wayland H. Cato Jr. Center for the Arts, 161 Calhoun Street, Charleston.

“La Dolce Vita” represents the glamorous lifestyle of 50’s and 60’s Italian movie stars, made famous by Marcello Mastroianni in the film of the same title and gloriously revisited on screen by such stars Gina Lollobrigida, Anna Magnani, Monica Vitti, and Sophia Loren.

La Dolce Vita Social and Silent Auction will feature Italian music and delectable appetizers and prosecco, Italy’s famed sparkling wine. All proceeds will benefit Nuovo Cinema Italiano Film Festival which will be held later in November at the Sottile Theatre.

Up for auction are gift cards, specialty baskets, items from Benetton, Saks Fifth Avenue, Roberto Coin, and an original antique art print from Umbria, Italy, courtesy of the Hidden Countship. Guests should arrive early for festival ticket giveaways!

Date & Time: Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Location: Halsey Gallery, 161 Calhoun St, Charleston, SC 29424

Admission is $30 ($ 25 per couple) or free to members and tickets will be sold at the door.

Dress: Dressy-casual or theme attire. Guests are encouraged to wear vintage glamour to be eligible for free tickets to the festival this fall.

 

Parking is available at one of the three city garages nearby.

Nuovo Cinema Italiano, an annual four-day festival celebrating Italian film and culture, is presented by the Italian Studies Program at the College of Charleston and will take place at the historic Sottile Theatre in downtown Charleston November 7-10, 2013.
