THE RESULT
The Bobcats had four players score in double figures against the Wizards but could not make a comeback, falling 104-87, on March 9 in Washington. Kemba Walker led Charlotte scoring 29 points, while Gerald Henderson contributed 17, Ben Gordon added 13 and Brendon Haywood scored 10. Charlotte’s defense forced 16 Wizards turnovers, grabbed eight steals and blocked two shots.

TURNING POINTS
The Bobcats started off strong against the Wizards, keeping the score close until the end of the first quarter when they trailed, 27-24. The Wizards went on an 11-point run in the second quarter the Cats could not recover from. Charlotte fought hard in the third and fourth quarter to bring the game to a 10-point difference but could not overcome the double-digit deficit the Wizards had created.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
It was not until the third quarter that the Bobcats could outscore the Wizards, 22-21. The Bobcats finished shooting 39.7 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from 3-point territory… The Wizards finished with 53.7 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from long distance… The Wizards beat the Cats in points in the paint (26-20) and the teams tied in second-chance points (11-11)… Charlotte’s defense forced 16 Wizards turnovers, grabbed eight steals and blocked two shots.

BOBCATS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Kemba Walker led Charlotte offensively with 29 points for the Cats on 11-for-25 shooting. Eleven of his points came in the first quarter. He also dished out six assists, grabbed three rebounds and had four steals.

Gerald Henderson was the second-leading scorer for the Cats with 17 points on 5-for-15 shooting. He scored nine points in the second quarter. Henderson dished out two assists, grabbed two rebounds, had a steal and blocked a shot.

WIZARDS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Trevor Ariza was hot off the bench for the Wizards with a double-double. He scored 26 points on 7-for-11 shooting and had 10 rebounds. Fourteen of his points came in the third quarter.

GAME NOTES
Kemba Walker scored 29 points for the Bobcats, while Gerald Henderson added 17, … Ramon Sessions was inactive due to injury… Josh McRoberts had his first career start for the Bobcats…Trevor Ariza was the lead scorer for the Wizards (26) and had a double-double. NEXT UP
