Cougars To Face No. 6 Seed Western Carolina In SoCon Quarterfinals

ASHEVILLE, NC March, 8, 2013 – The third-seeded College of Charleston men’s basketball team (22-9) will face sixth-seeded Western Carolina (14-18) in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Southern Conference Tournament on Saturday, March 9 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville, N.C.

The game will be carried nationally on ESPN3/WatchESPN.com. Western Carolina defeated 11th-seeded The Citadel (8-22) in the opening round, 60-44.

Both the Cougars and Catamounts last met in the postseason league tournament in the quarterfinals in 2009. As the No. 3 South seed, CofC defeated the No. 2 North seed WCU, 67-48, on March 7, 2009 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
