Clemson Men’s Tennis Team to Play UNC Wilmington Saturday

CLEMSON, SC March 8, 2013 — The 20th-ranked Clemson men’s tennis team will play host to UNC Wilmington Saturday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on the Tigers’ campus.

 

Clemson has a 10-2 record overall this season. The Tigers are led by Yannick Maden with a 16-4 overall singles record and a 10-1 mark in dual matches. Maden is ranked 57th in singles this season by the ITA. Hunter Harrington has an 11-5 record overall this season in singles, and freshman Austin Ansari is 10-3 this year.

UNC Wilmington has an 8-3 record overall. The Seahawks have been ranked as high as 37th this season. Rafael Alta has a 9-1 record in singles this season. The Seahawks’ Chris Cooprider has a 9-2 record in singles. The Seahawks defeated Davidson and Coastal Carolina by the same 7-0 score in UNC Wilmington’s latest action.

 

This will be the first-ever meeting between Clemson and UNC Wilmington in men’s tennis.
