Old Theater in Oriental announces showing of Lincoln, April 19th

“Lincoln” comes to Oriental’s Old Theater!

Oriental, NC Apr 19 2013 – The Old Theater’s Friday Flicks will present the 2012 movie, Lincoln, on April 19th.

 

Lincoln GraphicBased upon Doris Kearns Goodwin’s biography (Team of Rivals) and directed by Stephen Spielberg,  Lincoln focuses on the final months of President Abraham Lincoln’s life.  In this tumultuous time of our nation’s history, the President clashed with his cabinet over the issue of abolishing slavery.

 

The all-star cast includes Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln, Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln, Hal Holbrook as Lincoln’s advisor Preston Blair, and Tommy Lee Jones as the fierce abolitionist, Thaddeus Stevens.

 

The film was nominated for 10 Oscars, and won two, including Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis.

Box Office opens at 6:00 p.m. ~ Doors open at 7:00 ~ Movie begins at 7:30.

$5 admission includes free popcorn.
