Women’s Track & Field Holds at No. 15 in USTFCCCA Rankings

Team will have five scoring opportunities at 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships

COLUMBIA, SC March 5, 2013 – The South Carolina women’s track and field team stayed in the No. 15 spot in this week’s USTFCCCA rankings. After not being included in the preseason rankings, the Gamecocks have made seven-straight appearances this season since entering the poll at No. 20 in Week #1.

This is the final edition of the National Team Computer Rankings of the indoor season, with rankings determined solely on the NCAA Championships accepted entries released Monday evening.

2013 SEC Indoor Track and Field Champships in Fayetteville, Ark.

Senior Kierre Beckles (60-meter hurdles), juniors Jeannelle Scheper (high jump) and Petra Olsen (pole vault) along with sophomore Erika Rucker (400-meter dash) earned individual entries to the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships. Beckles and Rucker will join freshman Tyler Brockington and sophomore Christal Green to compete in the women’s 4x400m relay.

The NCAA Indoor Championships are set for March 8-9 in Fayetteville, Ark.
