North Carolina Aquariums: New! Spring break day camp for grades 2-7

Pine Knoll Shores, NC March 4, 2013 – Sign the kids up for a new adventure over their spring break from school. The Aquarium’s new Cape Lookout Conservation Camp takes youngsters to its namesake for a first-hand look at the beautiful barrier island environment. Campers learn about the island’s wildlife and ecology, and conservation concerns such as the effects of marine debris.

Camp on Wednesday, April 3, is for grades 2 through 4, and the session on Thursday, April 4, is for grades 5 through 7. The camps run 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Transportation from the Aquarium to Cape Lookout and back  is included in the camp fee.  Campers need to come prepared with water bottles, lunches, snacks,  sunscreen, closed-toe shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. Camps will be held at alternative locations if weather or sea conditions prevent passage to Cape Lookout.

The fee is $40 per camper; $36 for members. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Check back for a link to online registration.
