Carolina Hurricanes Recall Brett Sutter from Charlotte Checkers
Chad LaRose being evaluated for concussion-like symptoms

RALEIGH, NC, March 3, 2013 – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Brett Sutter from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Sutter will join the team for today’s game in Florida as forward Chad LaRose remained in Raleigh following Saturday’s game to be further evaluated for concussion-like symptoms.
Sutter, 25, ranks fourth among Checkers skaters in scoring this season with 33 points (13g, 20a) in 52 games. The Viking, Alb., native is in his second season as Charlotte’s captain and ranks tied for third among team forwards with a plus-8 plus/minus rating. Sutter (6’0”, 200 lbs.) is in his sixth professional season and has scored one goal and earned four assists (5 points) in 34 career NHL games with Calgary and Carolina. He has yet to play an NHL game this season.
The Carolina Hurricanes complete back-to-back, home-and-home set tonight against the Florida Panthers at BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL (6 p.m., FOX Sports Carolinas, Hurricanes Radio Network).
