Six other Colonial Athletic Association schools joined UNCW as honorees, including Delaware, George Mason, James Madison, Northeastern, Towson, and William & Mary,

“We’re proud that our women have continued to be successful in the classroom,” said assistant cross country/track and field coach Layne Schwier. “It’s always been one of the team goals for the year, but it’s become more of an expectation. They keep their priorities straight, and I’m especially pleased with our freshmen because all of them made the Dean’s List. For them to make it through the tough first semester so well is quite an accomplishment.”

UNCW posted a 3.35 GPA and was one of 11 state schools recognized. The other state institutions honored included Appalachian State, Duke, East Carolina, Elon, High Point, N.C. State, UNC Asheville, UNC Charlotte, UNC Chapel Hill and Western Carolina.
