Cougars Volleyball Concludes Spring Indoor Season With Four-Team Tournament

CHARLESTON, SC Feb. 22, 2013 – The College of Charleston volleyball team will wrap up its indoor season this weekend with a four-team exhibition tournament at TD Arena, starting Sunday morning at 9 a.m. The Cougars will welcome UNC-Wilmington, S.C. State and Charleston Southern to campus for the tournament.

The Cougars will play the Seahawks at 9 a.m., followed by a match against the Bulldogs and Buccaneers. The single-elimination playoffs will begin in the afternoon at 1 p.m.

 

College of Charleston is coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2012. The Cougars won the Southern Conference Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after the program’s first victory over a ranked team in No. 23 Miami.

 

Junior OH Darcy Dorton was named an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honoree, the first in program history.

 

Sunday’s event is free and fans are encouraged to attend.
