Surf City Youth Volleyball is a six week training course for young players ages 9-14 and is especially designed for those who will be trying out later for their school team. The program will run each Monday night April 8 to May 20 (except M ay 6), from 6-8 pm. It will include a minimum 75 minute skills training session followed by scrimmage games.
The program will utilize the new professional volleyball system in the Surf City Community Center gymnasium. Registration is limited to the first 20 who sign up. Registrations and payment are also accepted in the Parks & Recreation office at 201 Community Center Drive during hours the center is open.
Kim Warrick was instrumental in bringing volleyball to Surf City Community Center. She has an extensive background in college, school and recreational volleyball programs and formerly worked at Cary Parks & Recreation as a program supervisor.
