Knights Four-Legged Fans to Receive Royal Treatment at Knights Stadium

Fort Mill, SC Feb. 19, 2013 – WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Translation…The Charlotte Knights are welcoming all dogs to Knights Stadium for one last time on Sunday, April 28 for the final “Bark in the Ballpark” celebration in Fort Mill. The Knights will move into brand-new BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte following the 2013 season.

All canines in attendance will be treated to a Sunday matinee between the Knights and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. First pitch is set for 2:15 p.m with a portion of the ticket proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of York County.

“We are excited about inviting all of our four-pawed fans out to Knights Stadium for the last time and we plan on giving them the royal treatment,” said Knights General Manager of Baseball Operations Scott Brown. “We also look forward to continuing this great promotion in 2014 and beyond when we move Uptown to BB&T Ballpark.”

The Knights will roll out the red carpet for their four-legged friends with a pet-themed giveaway (TBD), Doggie Vendor showcase on the concourse, and an opportunity to take your dog on a pre-game walk around the Knights Stadium warning track.

Special seating in the LLR and grass berms will be set aside for dogs and their owners. Man’s best friend must be kept on a leash at all times and will not be permitted in the field box area.

The Knights open up their 24th and final season at Knights Stadium on Thursday, April 11 at 7:15 p.m. against the Gwinnett Braves, Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
