CofC Cougars Conclude Competition at Tiger Paw Invitational

CLEMSON, SC Feb. 9, 2013 -  Junior Christa Horrocks ran the second fastest time in school history in the 200-meter dash as the College of Charleston women’s track & field team wrapped up competition at the Tiger Paw Invitational Saturday.

Horrocks finished 38th out of 77 competitors in the women’s 200 as she clocked a time of 26.69 seconds. Her time was .29 off of the school record in the indoor 200-meter dash.

Sophomore Hayley McMahon competed in her first 3K of the indoor season as she finished in third-place, crossing the finish line in 10:22.08. Her time is the eighth fastest time in program history.

In field events sophomore Tiffany Sisk finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 13.18 meters (43-03.00 ft.)

“I thought we had some good performances and a lot of improvement,” CofC head coach Amy Seago said. “I’m looking forward to fine tuning some things over the next two weeks before the conference championship.”

The Cougars will compete in the Southern Conference Championship Feb. 23-24 at the JDL Fast Track Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
