The Cougars most recently competed at the Wake Forest Invitational Jan. 19 as they experienced competing on the same track that will host the 2013 Southern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Feb. 23-24.

Among the highlights of the meet at Wake Forest was freshman Roshani Glover, who jumped 11.89 meters (just over 39 feet) in the triple jump to finish fourth. She is currently leading the conference standings in the triple jump. Her jump is also second all-time in CofC women’s track & field history, four centimeters off the school record.

For her performance, Glover earned Southern Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Sophomore Tiffany Sisk, who holds the indoor record in the shot put came close to her mark and set the second best mark in school history with a throw of 13.50 meters. Fellow sophomore Hayley McMahon recorded the third fastest time in school history in the 800-meter run as she won the event in a time of 2:14.89. Both McMahon and Sisk will compete in those events this weekend.

“I’m excited to see us compete again,” CofC head coach Amy Seago said. “We have had a solid couple of weeks of practice and with the experience we have gained in our first two meets, I expect us to continue to improve moving forward.”
