Elton John and his band return to Winston Salem!

WINSTON-SALEM, NC Jan. 30, 2013 – Elton John and his band return for the first time in 8 years to Winston-Salem’s LJVM Coliseum on Saturday, April 6th performing in concert at 8pm, featuring number one chart hits and classic album tracks from throughout Elton’s incredible five-decade career.

The public on-sale will begin Friday, February 8th at 10 AM.

Elton John’s band includes Davey Johnstone on guitar, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums, Kim Bullard on keyboards, and on bass Matt Bissonette. One of the most successful live bands on the road today, Elton and his band put on the kind of concert you will never forget:: the entire audience standing, dancing and singing along with much-loved classic songs such as “Your Song”, “Rocket Man”, “Bennie and the Jets”, “Philadelphia Freedom”, “Crocodile Rock”, “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”, and many more.

“Elton John’s last show at Joel Coliseum in 2005 was electric and the type of hit-filled concert we’ve come to expect from this legend.,” said Bucky Dame, LJVM Coliseum Director. “We are excited that we can again host one of the greatest artists of our time and are thrilled that Winston-Salem was included in this tour.”

The monumental career of international singer/songwriter and performer Elton John spans five decades. He is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time, with 35 gold and 25 platinum albums, 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, and he has sold more than 250 million records worldwide. John holds the record for the biggest selling single of all time, “Candle in the Wind ’97,” which sold 33 million copies. Since his career began in 1969 he has played almost 3,300 concerts worldwide.
