CHARLOTTE — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed a 27-21 victory in overtime against the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium Sunday.
Tight end Dallas Clark hauled in the game-winning score with a 15-yard catch on the opening possession of the overtime.
After a Tampa Bay field goal cut Carolina’s lead to 21-13, the Buccaneers got the ball back with 1:02 left in the game and no timeouts. Seven plays later, Vincent Jackson caught a 24-yard touchdown to pull the Buccaneers within two in the final seconds. Jackson then hauled in the 2-point conversion to tie the game.
The Bucs built an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Panthers produced 21 unanswered points to take the lead. Captain Munnerlyn returned an interception 74 yards for a touchdown, Jonathan Stewart rushed for a 1-yard score, and Cam Newton connected with Brandon LaFell for a 29-yard touchdown.
