Record Number of Volunteers fill Victory Offices For Tarheel Turnout Push Across North Carolina

Largest GOP voter contact day in North Carolina history

Raleigh, NC – Tomorrow, Republicans in North Carolina and around the country will kick off the fourth monthly Super Saturday leading up to the November 6 election with a Tarheel Turnout. Across the state, volunteers will take to the streets and head to Victory offices to knock doors and make phone calls for Mitt Romney and the rest of the Republican ticket. Volunteers from South Carolina, Georgia, and Washington D.C. will join our volunteer efforts across the state.

 

With renewed enthusiasm after Governor Romney’s debate win on Wednesday, volunteers will make 100s of thousands of voter contacts, committing nearly 12,000 hours, or more than a year’s worth, of their time in a single day. Nationally, we have made over 30 million voter contacts, knocked 15 times more doors and made 5 times more phone calls than at the same point in 2008.

 

The debate illustrated the distinct differences between the two candidates, a President who has no new ideas to fix the economy and a second term filled with tax increases and more chronic unemployment, or Mitt Romney, a demonstrated leader who can work across the aisle to solve problems, create jobs and turn around our economy. With unemployment at 9.7% and more than 450,000 unemployed in the state, the choice is clear this election in North Carolina.
