Only In Onslow – Week Ending September 16, 2011

Onslow County, NC – VFW Post 9133 will hold their fish fry fundraiser on Friday, September 16th from 11am to 4pm at 1450 Piney Green Road.  Proceeds going to the support of our veterans and community.  This event is open to the public with tickets on sale for $7 a plate. Fish dinner includes homemade baked beans, coleslaw and hush puppies for eat in or take out. For more information, call 910-353-6810.

Holly Ridge VFW will hold an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser from 4 to 7pm this Saturday, Sept 17th at 188 Stump Sound Church Road in Holly Ridge.  Donation for the event is $6 per plate.  For more information, call 910-329-1881.

Surf City Parks & Recreation presents Concerts in the Park. Friday, September 17th featuring Onslow Winds starting at 6pm at the Soundside Park next to the swing bridge. First Baptist of Ivy Gap will be presented by the Sneads Ferry Community Theater Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16, 17 & 18.   Friday and Saturday shows are at 8pm and the Sunday shows are at 3pm.  This play will be held at the Sneads Ferry Community Center located at 126 Park Lane.  Adult prices are $12.00 per ticket and any student (with student ID card) is $6.00.

Join us at Swanfest 2011! Sunday, September 18th at Olde Town Square in Downtown Swansboro from 6pm to 7:30pm with  Wild Honey & Bryan Mayer.  The concerts are FREE so bring your lawn chair and come out, relax and enjoy! No pets and no alcohol please.  In the event of inclement weather, a concert may be rescheduled.  Mark your calendars for Drew and the Express on Sunday, Sept. 25th!
